Eligible Dependents
For most plans, an eligible dependent is an individual who is related to you in one of the following ways:
Spouse
Your dependent child who is:
Under age 26, regardless of student, employment or marital status, or
Age 26 or older and incapacitated
Working Spouse Exclusion for Medical and Dental
Spouses who are employed and have access to medical and/or dental coverage through their employer are not eligible to receive medical and/or dental benefits under the DallasNews Corporation plan. Spouses who are not eligible for coverage from an employer, are self-employed or have lost coverage as an active employee and have been offered COBRA are eligible. Spouse eligibility must be confirmed when first enrolled and subsequently during the annual enrollment period each year.
Domestic Partner Exclusion
With legalized same-sex marriage across all states, DallasNews Corporation now offers health plan coverage for legal spouses only, provided they do not have coverage available through their own employer.
